Charles Edward Phillips

November 7, 1931 - November 13, 2021

Charles Edward Phillips “Charlie” passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday November 13th, 2021. Charles was born on November 7th in Bonham Texas to Mr. Olan Phillips and Mrs. Cynthia Phillips. Charles graduated from Denison High School and joined the United States Air Force soon after graduation. He later met the love of his life; Vivian Lucille Phillips and they were wed at Twin Cities Baptist Church in Sherman Texas. They were married for 69 years before Vivian’s passing in August of 2021. Charles and Vivian had two children Janet Phillips Haggerton and F. Wayne Phillips. Charles retired from TXDOT after 25 years and he spent his retirement traveling with Vivian and Fishing. Charles was known for always wearing his signature striped overalls and was hardly ever seen without them on. Charles was preceded in death by his father, mother, a sister, and wife. He is survived by his sister, Tommye Gotlieb, daughter, Janet Haggerton her spouse, Jack Haggerton, son, Wayne Phillips and his spouse, Angela Gentry, as well as 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will by held at Fairview Cemetery Denison, Texas, November 18th, 2021, 2:00pm in the Fairview Chapel.
