Cordelia Belle Fulenchek, 98, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Homestead of Denison.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. Brother Bob Sholl and Brother Greg Knight will officiate. Mike Fulenchek will bring the eulogy. Burial will follow in Georgetown Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel.

Cordelia was born on August 22, 1913 in Sherman, Texas the daughter of Mart and Bessie Crook Thomas. She married George W. Fulenchek on July 9, 1928 in Pottsboro, Texas. He preceded her in death in February 1996.

Cordelia came by covered wagon to Grayson County as a child. The family traveled back and forth from Trenton, Missouri to this area. She was a lifetime resident of the Pottsboro and Denison areas. She was a member of the Pottsboro Church of Christ for over 60 years and was their oldest member. She was an avid master quilter and cleaned and did ironing for people. She worked at th Texas Nursery for several years and she was a wonderful homemaker.

Serving as her pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ricky Toth, Ronnie Fulenchek, Mike Fulenchek, Jeff Fulenchek, Danny Gordon and Gary Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be James Rains, special nephew, J.D. Thomas and her great-grandsons.

The family suggests donations to your favorite charity or to the Pottsboro Church of Christ Building Fund, 522 W Hwy 120, Pottsboro, Texas 75076.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Gordon and her husband, Paul of Pottsboro and Brenda Raley of Whitney, Texas; brother, Calvin Fulenchek and his wife, Mildred of Pottsboro; sister-in-law, Maxine Fulenchek Carney of Sherman; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her special caregiver, Kim Matthews and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; daughter, Helen Aline Toth; son, Charles L. Fulenchek; grandson, Brian Toth; son-in-law, Joseph Toth; daughter-in-law, Jo Nell Fulenchek; brother, Lloyd Thomas; sister, Juanita Moon and sister-in-law, Josie Elmore.

    Thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Cordelia was a sweet,talented, and hardworking lady. I still have the blanket she made my oldest 29 years ago. I’m out of town, but know that I’m thinking of you.
