Elizabeth Parelee Cassell

November 5, 1927 - February 24, 2016

Pottsboro Elizabeth Parelee (Nana) Cassell, 88 year old Pottsboro resident, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Texoma Medical Center. Visitation will be Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 5-6 pm at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 officiated by Chaplain Perry “Zip” Tarver at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro. Mrs. Cassell was born on November 5, 1927 in Denison, Texas, daughter of Dennie F. Bledsaw and Rosie Collier. She attended school in Denison. She married William J. (Bill) Cassell on June 26, 1944 in Denison. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2003. She retired from Gibson’s Store after 20 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren and cooking. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Lake Texoma Post #7873. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Marcy and Don Harrelson of Denison, Jan and Larry Vogelsang of Pottsboro; granddaughter, Christy Harvey and husband, Tim of Pottsboro; great grandchildren, Michael Wheeler of Denison, Amber Bartley and husband, Bobby of Tom Bean and Zachary Harvey of Sherman; great-great grandsons, Parker Jenkins, Zaidyn Bartley, Cooper Bartley and Cameron Harvey. She was excited for her first great-great granddaughter, Addison Parelee Bartley, to arrive in July 2016. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cassell, Jerry Mack Cassell, Michael Wayne Gibson, Tim Harvey, Bobby Bartley and Ronnie Conary. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
