Jack Kerley

August 1, 1936 - December 21, 2018

DENISON – Jack Kerley, 82 passed away peacefully at his residence Friday, December 21, 2018. Jack was born August 1, 1936 in Denison to Grover D. and Bessie D. Bean Kerley. He graduated from Denison High School and attended the University of Texas. He served in the Army from 1959 – 1962 at Ft. Hood, Texas. He worked for Dallas Power and Lights and then retired as an estimator after 37 years of employment for the Texas Utility companies. Later in life, Jack married Reah Daayata on January 7, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; William Freling, George Doyle, Fredrick Lowell, six sisters; Thelma Lorene, Alice Violet, Kowanda Walene, Carry Ellen, Myrtle Marie, and Norma June. Jack is survived by his wife of 10 years Reah and one sister Leta Imogene Cunningham of Paris, step-daughter Janet Johnson of Waco, Texas granddaughter; Angela Wichkoski and husband Allen of Waco, grandson; William Weaver and wife Kathy of Forth Worth; two great granddaughters; Hagen Love and Taylor Love and several nieces and nephews. A rosary followed by visitation will be held at Johnson Moore Funeral Home on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 6:00pm. Services will be 10:00 am Monday December 24, 2018 in the Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum in Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas. Officiated by Father Randall Fogle and Deacon Gary Vogle. Military services will be conducted by the honor guard from Ft. Hood, Texas. Kevin Upchurch, Daniel Thayer, Cole Burgess, William Weaver, C.J. Gluck and Terry Rasor are serving as pall bearers.
