Lindy Charles Montgomery

January 20, 1928 - May 4, 2022

Denison Lindy C. Montgomery passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the age of 94. He was born on January 20, 1928 to Cecil C. and Cora J. (Whitley) Montgomery in Preston Bend, Grayson County, Texas. Lindy graduated from Denison Senior High. He and Mary E. Harris were married on April 21, 1951. He served in the United States Army from 1947 to 1951, worked at the Safeway Plant from 1953 until it closed and then went to work for the Denison Independent School District as the security officer at Denison High School, where he touched many lives of faculty and students, retiring May 31, 2008. Lindy was a member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church, which he helped build. He enjoyed working in his yard and, being a child of the Depression Era, kept everything. If you needed it, Dad had it! He is survived by his sons, Terry Glen Montgomery and his wife, Teresa of Amarillo, Texas and Dennis Lee Montgomery and his wife, Suzann of Denison, Texas; son-in-law, Donald Pratt of Howe; four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Cora Montgomery; wife, Mary; daughter, Pam Pratt and son, Randy Montgomery. Family visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a memorial donation to Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
