Lois Ellen (Gill) Smith

October 30, 1953 - January 18, 2021

Sherman Lois Ellen Gill Smith, 67, passed away at her home in Sherman surrounded by her family on Monday, January 18, 2021. Lois was born in Sherman, Texas on October 30, 1953, the daughter of Robert Balem and Lena Elneata (Lewis) Gill. She was a rancher, raised calves and absolutely loved them. She was a member of Legacy Bible Church. Per Lois’ wishes, the funeral service is for family only and will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. Committal ceremony with burial is at 12 Noon at Georgetown Cemetery and will be open to family and friends. Reverend Garner Simpkins will officiate. Lois is survived by her husband, Tim Smith of the home; sons, Chad Lynn of Sherman and Derrick Smith of Tooele, Utah; daughters, Heather Lynn of Sadler and Christina Smith of Sherman; brother, Jimmy Gill of Pottsboro; sister, Sandra Krause of Carlsbad, New Mexico; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Ella Brown Crisis Center, P.O. Box 2112, Sherman, TX 75091. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison.
