Margaret "Peggy" Karen Huckeba

July 4, 1949 - March 12, 2022

Peggy K. Huckeba, 72, died at her home in Palestine, Texas on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Peggy was born in Davenport, Iowa on July 4, 1949, the daughter of Richard Lee and Marguerite Clella (O’Brien) Gill. She graduated from Bettendorf High School in Iowa and attended Grayson County College. She and Jerry Allen Huckeba were married on June 11, 1985 in Denison, Texas. Peggy was a homemaker. She loved working in the yard, weeding and growing flowers; sitting outside at the lake, crocheting and her cats. She was Baptist by faith. Peggy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jerry Huckeba of Palestine, TX; daughter, Stacey Beam of Denison; brothers, Michael Gill and his wife, Vickie of Henderson, NV, Dennis Gill and Ronald Gill and his wife, Shirley both of Davenport, IA; sisters, Sandy Collier and her husband, Don of Le Claire, IA and Judy Harris of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Evan Rosenow, Parker Raley, Ambi Raley, Nick Beam, Allison Beam, Lara Beam and Ryan Beam and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Allen Gatley; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Rosenow; brothers, Ernest, Robert, Richard, Gerald and Patrick and sister, Mary. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel with Reverend Neal Alexander officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
